The signals in Transient Analysis might look erratic but this is because the default scale on the vertical axis shows the most detail. Figure 10: Entering the values for the Initial Conditions manually This release of Altium Designer does not automatically populate initial condition parameters from successful SIMPLIS simulations as it does with SIMetrix/SIMPLIS.įor this example we need to divide the clock down by two, so the signal has been fed through a Toggle Flip-Flop first (The PERIODICOP component also has a Divide By Two parameter that does the same thing) Run the simulation to see the result. Again, you will only see these if you enable the Component Parameter option for an Initial Voltage or Initial Current. Each initial condition field actually corresponds to two model parameters named IC and USEIC. The Initial Voltage and Initial Current parameters are especially important for SIMPLIS - remember that a blank initial condition is quite different from an initial condition of 0. When you change the Level parameter, the parameters that are not used at that detail level are grayed out. Figure 9: Parameters tab for the model file In addition, the appearance of the Parameters tab for the common SIMetrix Electrolytic Capacitor and Lossy Inductor components is similar to those of the built-in model Kinds. Components are linked to vault-based models (SCH, PCB, Sim) and include defined Part Choices, providing live on-demand supply-chain information.Įverywhere else, such as in the model file itself and on the Schematic if you check the Component Parameter box, you will see only abbreviated names. This vault contains a collection of vault-based library components, for a range of manufacturers, developed by the Hobart Content Development Center, for use by Subscriber Plan members of the community. Vault-based components are available from the Altium Hobart Vault – a Managed Vault available as part of AltiumLive Vault Services and accessible from the page of the AltiumLive community website. Additional board design integrated libraries from a range of manufacturers can be found on the page of the Altium Wiki. Add the Vendor-related libraries to this list, as and when required, directly from within the panel, either as project libraries, installed libraries, or libraries to be found along specified search paths. As such, they are readily available from Altium Designer's Libraries panel. The two Miscellaneous libraries are added to the list of available installed libraries for the system by default.
